Ok, so you find yourself temporarily living in Tampa on the water and you haven’t yet ventured out onto the lovely waters of the Tampa Bay?  It’s time to change that.  Do you have a special occasion coming up and want something unique to do to celebrate?  I have the perfect prescription for you – the Star Ship Cruise Ship.

This is a lovely 4 star dining experience on the water.  They have get a way lunch cruises, holiday cruises, Sunday brunch cruises, and their most popular dinner cruises. Well, I have done this cruise for Valentine’s Day and for my birthday and had a wonderful experience both times.

So, what do you expect to do on this cruise?  Well you first board the ship.  Then you pull up the boarding bridge and start sail.  It is instantly like you are on a mini vacation and you can feel the gentle breeze.  A great way to see Tampa from a different perspective for sure.  It is not unusual to see dolphins playing behind the boat.  This is a large boat, and generally you shouldn’t feel sea sick.  

Then it is time for your three-course meal including a starter, your entrée and a dessert, which is prepared by Star Ship’s Executive Chef and galley staff. During the Lunch cruise, the staff provides a historical narration of the Tampa Bay's rich sea-port history. If you are on the dinner cruise, after the dinner, you have the opportunity to dance on the lounge deck or relax beneath the stars.

The food is prepared fresh daily and the food selection is posted online on their website – www.YachtStarship.com.  Yacht StarShip's normal Tampa route includes cruising out of Ybor Channel into the HillsboroughBay and Garrison Channel. While in route, passengers view Bayshore Drive, Harbour Island, Davis Island, and Downtown Tampa’s Skyline.

Most of the people who attend these cruises are locals and the service onboard is what you would expect from a luxury Yacht.  The attire is what you would wear for a nice evening on the town, but not necessarily formal. Just no flip flops and shorts J  You can park in the lot in front of the ship for $5.00 per car.

Rates start at $29.95 per person and if you are flexible on your dates, you can occasionally find 2 for 1 fares.  This rates includes your food for the entire meal.  Alcohol is an extra fee.  The Yacht Star Ship lunch cruise is also a family friendly atmosphere. All children are welcome to become an honorary captain with a bridge visit.
